Project Description

Chang-Hon Patterns

Patterns, also known as Tul in Korean, are an important part the Taekwondo syllabus. By practicing patterns of movements repeatedly students hone their fundamental techniques and stances, with more complex skills introduced incrementally in increasingly complex patterns as students progress through the grades.

There are 24 patterns in the Chang-Hon syllabus, symbolic of the 24 hours in a day. All of the Chang-Hon patterns start and end at the same location, ensuring that the practitioners’ stances are the correct length, width, and in the proper direction.
